Following Decree N°2018/514 of 22nd October 2018, the Minister of Secondary education Professor Nalova Lyonga declares that with respect to the reorganization of the Cameroon GCE Board, the shall be no more CAP, Probatoire and BACC examination for Cameroon English Technical school.
Instead, the shall be just two exams with one written in form five and the other written in Upper Sixth.
The one written in form Five shall be called INTERMEDIATE TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (ICT). And the exam written in Upper Sixth shall be called ADVANCED TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE (ATC) and ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE (APC).
This decree shall take effect as from the 2019/2020 academic year, hence marking the beginning of the application of English subsystem of education to Anglophone technical schools in Cameroon.
Note: The Advanced Professional Certificate is for candidates with working experience and is as follows:
- 1-year working experience for BACC holder
- 2 years of working experience for PROBATOIRE holder
- 3 years for CAP holders.
Candidates are expected to present an attestation of work upon registration.

The Minister of Seconder Education hereby informs the General Public, particularly students and parents that, as a sequel to the signing of Decree N°2011/514 of 22 October 2018 to organize the (General Certificate of Education Board), with a major innovation being the introduction of the Intermediate Technical Certificate (TIC) in form five, the Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC) and the Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) in Upper Sixth in the English sub-system, students who meet the pre-requisite condition for promotion into Form Five or Upper Sixth as per the school class Council decision will sit for the above official certificate exams in the 2019/2020 academic year.
Consequently, prospective candidates for the said exams could apply for admission into Form Five or Upper Sixth as the case may be in any Government Technical High School of their choice.
